Law Library Statistics, Ranking and the "Value" of Law Libraries

    in Legal

Special guests will include, Scott Pagel, Teresa Miguel-Stearns, Frank Houdek, and Darin Fox, current and past members of the ABA Data Policy and Collection Committee and noted experts in law library data and statistics. Regular line up of co-hosts and pundits includes: Ken Hirsh, Elizabeth Farrell Clifford, Roger Skalbeck, Mandy Lee, and Greg Lambert.
By some objective measures, academic law libraries are “disappearing” before our very eyes. The ABA Annual Questionnaire may have no law library questions next year and Self Study/SEQs now only contain about ten questions regarding the library! (In the past year I served on two site teams and the report template that I completed last month was smaller than the one I did last year!) Does it mean we’re less important? Nope. Not by a long shot. Other indicators show strong evidence that law libraries in law schools are more important and popular than ever before.
Topics that will be considered are how the center of gravity is shifting away from objective measures of what is a law library, to subjective ones that emphasize services that we provide to our institutions. Anecdotally, it seems that law libraries are as popular as ever and are providing many expanded services, such as managing digital publication in law schools, PERMA, developing digitization of primary materials, expanded teaching throughout curricula via specialized research classes, etc., etc. But on paper, in the ABA Questionnaire, SEQ, etc., it seems we’re disappearing.

The Legal Show:To Teach or Not to Teach?

    in Legal

Attorney Sarah Avraham and writer Bennet Pomerantz discuss the subjects of the day.
The audience should know that although Ms. Avraham is a licensed attorney, she is not offering legal advice in any capacity, is not establishing an attorney/client relationship with anyone listening to the show, and recommends that any listener of the show consult a local attorney for any legal advice they may require.
This show is about us discussing hot topics and how they relate to the law.
Leigh Anne Arthur, a South Carolina teacher, says she was forced to resign after a 16-year-old student took her phone, found private nude photos intended for her husband, shared them on social media, texted them to his friends, and then told her, "your day of reckoning is coming." What happened to this teacher? What happened to the student? Will the teacher ever teach at this school again? Tune in to hear the answers to these and many other questions surrounding this controversial story.

    The Grantham Taylor Hughes Show

    in Legal

Every Sunday at 6:30 PM EST, Dr. Lord Grantham Taylor, Hughes J.d., L.c.m.D., Ph.D. (Grantham), explores the 1930 Geneva Convention International bankruptcy and its contemporary effects on our society. He also analyses the necessity of his four foundation bankruptcy platform planks of health, sovereignty, solvency, and afianchetto. These planks include talking about bankruptcy money issues, e.g., Federal Reserve exemption account accessable fees which help those in need along with detailed information regarding all currency.
Grantham, having  been a contracts expert for many years is presently a retired trust lawyer with his family as the eminent Bauer-Rothschild clan that gleans his Lordship as one Baron von Bauer-Rothschild. That credibility and his Self-Realization experience in India many years ago displays his particular brand of intelligently illuminating yet glib presentation. Along with his journalist "side-kick" Gabriella Foster, they bring a fun atmosphere to seemingly lugubrious salient subjects effecting our world today. Come join this "dynamic duo" and learn about important information necessary in negotiating our way in a venue of confusion at times. Clear and cogent insightfulness genuinely will enable many to free themselves from the political ignorance around them. Much of this ignorance remains the problem of not knowing the Uniform Commercial code (UCc) and its lawful presence in the international courts. We know that the courts remain mostly in denial of the UCc. Grantham explains rightfully so as of the bankruptcy embarrassment and potential handgun revolution concern. He adds that provocative positions are unnecessary and working together gathering wisdom instead of adversarialism. Join this perfect recumbentibus team extrapolating a more powerfully pithy political posture found nowhere else.
