  • Live Chat: Honoring a Living Reggae Icon:- OWEN GREY'S Music Legacy

    in Music

Owen Gray also known as Owen Grey (born 5 July 1939, Jamaica) is one of Jamaica's 'Foundation' singers whose work spans the R&B, ska, rocksteady, and reggae eras of Jamaican music, and he has been credited as Jamaica's first home-grown singing star.Gray won his first talent contest at the age of nine, and by the age of twelve he was already appearing in public, playing drums, guitar, and keyboards. He attended the Alpha Boys School and turned professional aged 19. Gray was a dynamic performer on stage, who could be gritty or suave as the song dictated. He was the first singer (of many) to praise a sound system on record, with his "On the Beach" celebrating Clement Dodd's Sir Coxsone Downbeat system in 1959, one of the first releases on Dodd's Studio One label. He was one of the first artists to be produced by Chris Blackwell, in 1960, and his "Patricia" single was the first record ever released by Island Records.

  • 5 Steps to Building the Perfect Partnership

    in Business

    launched with five proven principles:
    1. Know Thyself and Know Thy Partners
“You can’t make a good deal with a bad person,” Warren Buffett once said. He would know. Buffett, and his partner Charlie Munger, have been working together since 1959.
    2. Start with Clear Communication and Expectations
Have adult conversations from the get-go. Establish who is responsible for what parts of the business. Make the partnership terms clear and concise, and be sure to write them down. A single page summary of responsibilities should do to start.
    3. Get It In Writing
Speaking of writing, craft a strategy not only for success, but for failure. Put your goals and mission in clear, concise language.
4.Partner With People Who Have Strengths That Complement Your Own
There’s little sense in partnering with a great copywriter if you’re also a great copywriter. But if you can find a great partner with strengths in areas where you are weak, then the synergy (and potential success) is automatically greater.
    5. Partner with Individuals Committed to Personal Development
“We both share the theory that you should hang around good people,” Munger said about his relationship with Buffett. “Always behave better every year than you behaved the previous year. Warren and I don’t agree on everything, and yet we’re respectful of one another.”

  • Creating the Perfect Offer

    in Business

But remember what you offer is NOT the same thing as what your business does. This is a KEY distinction that far too many business owners fail to realize.
what you'll be promoting is a specific something… a combination of features, benefits, scarcity and guarantees, that are precisely matched to your target customer.
Those components make up a specific WIDGET … and how you write that out in words is your OFFER. As you describe your offer in your sales material, you need to focus 90% on the outcome that the people listening to you will experience when they buy from you.
Plan to sell from the very beginning - While in most cases you don't want to pounce on a person like a hungry lion the minute they open your letter, email or social media post,
Make them act now - Give your prospects a reason or reasons to act now!
Tracking and measure - If you don't track your marketing, how do you know what's working and what's not?
Individual results may and will vary - Be cautious of "best practices" or broad statements about what is working today.
