Lost in Space; On My Block-Trump Ed.; Eternals Film? MCU Phase 4?-The Grind @6pm

    in Pop Culture

It's the infamous Grindhouse podcast, people!  Join your weekly usual suspects as they unfurl the following pulp cultural topics:  Netflix' Lost in Space reboot debuts and we give our impressions and comparisons (Fantastic Four, '98 film, false starts, etc); another Netflix property, On My Block touches upon a bit of controversy with one of the actors' pro Trump tweets (while portraying a Latina with immigration status issues); rumor has it that Marvel may be exploring an Eternals film (right on the heels of another Jack King Kirby property being announced as film possibilty, New Gods); and if there wasn't anymore Marvel news, Reddit users speculate what the MCU's Phase four could look like; just what happened to actor, TJ Miller? more on the Incredibles 2 and Solo and James Franco's Future World trailers that have been popping up on the internets; Dburt finally gets around to discussing the "Black" Rorschach character in the new Doomsday Clock graphic novel series; dissatisfaction (and racist tweets) are unfotunately accompanying early photos of the forthcoming WB streaming series, Titans; Jessica Jones gets a 3rd season;  how quickly they change their minds-it appears that Scarlet Witch Actor, Elizabeth Olsen now appears to be rethinking her no solo movie desire due to the Avengers famed House of M story line (never say never); legendary One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest director, Milos Forman passes at 86; and what about that Pacific Rim/Godzilla crossover poster available only in Japan;  And lastly, more thoughts on the Krypton series. Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.

Church of Priest: A Roundtable Discussion of DC Comics' Deathstroke

    in Pop Culture

Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke may be the worst dad in DC Comics but the solo series he stars in, by writer Christopher Priest and artists including Larry Hama, Carlo Pagulayan, Cary Nord, Diogenes Neves and more, is one of the hottest comics today. Deathstroke is full of politics, violence, poor personal choices, byzantine plots and Episcopalian philosophy.
Join us for a deep dive into the current series with our Esteemed Guests: Hub is the writer, producer, and co-host of Titan Up the Defense, a podcast that covers the two entirely unrelated Bronze Age series the New Teen Titans and the Defenders.
